Moments in time

While the concept of Hardwires has long been present in neuroscience, the specifics of their nature, impact on individuals, and the identification of common patterns have remained elusive. In 2010, Vivienne Schultz introduced the concept in her book "Dependency to Dignity," initially calling them "stubborn factors resisting change.

2017

Research & development

Vivienne Schultz engaged in action research, conducted case studies, reviewed relevant literature, and collaborated across multiple sectors.

2018

Developing the questionnaire

For the questionnaire development, assistance was provided by Prof. Stass, a statistician at UNISA, who helped refine the questions and ensured interrater reliability through counter-questioning.

2019

Proof of concept & training first coaches

A proof-of-concept questionnaire was developed, and the results were manually collated.

The initial three Hardwires interpretation coaches underwent one-on-one personalized training.

2020

Specialized coaching course

The official Hardwires interpretation coaches online training took place amid the COVID-19 lockdown, with 16 participants. A number of established coaches subsequently utilized HIC coaching within their organizations.

2021

Hardwires gets a system upgrade

Second edition of the proof of concept was released, with an updated admin dashboard. The system was no longer manual.

2022

More training & some video features

Third batch of HIC online coaches underwent training.

Hardwires featured in a series of videos presented by A2B Transformation and produced.

2023

Joining our hands and minds

Hardwires support team formed, consisting of psychologists, a psychometrist, and several personal and professional coaches.
